which transformations are needed must be discussed.

potential transformations:

  • rotation by multiples of 90°
  • horizontal/vertical flip
  • move layer
  • resample / crop layer

potentially needed features:

  • layer size independent from canvas size
  • absolute layer position

at first it could be just a button to select the full current layer and float it so it can be transformed using the selection transformation actions.
